Have You Been Born into Things? Understanding How Your Upbringing Shapes You and Embracing the Power to Redefine Your Path

#12 - 8/01/2024   Have You Been Born into Things? Understanding How Your Upbringing Shapes You and Embracing the Power to Redefine Your Path Lately, I've been reflecting on a topic that's deeply connected to the themes I explore in my writing: the factors that shape our beliefs and how they evolve over time. Specifically, I’ve become fascinated by the differences in the belief systems we inherit and how they impact our lives. Why do some people grow up with one belief and continue to hold onto it, while others evolve into new viewpoints? The Power of Practice and Belief One concept that resonates with me is this: “If you don’t practice what you believe, what you believe becomes your practice.” This simple yet profound statement speaks to the idea that our actions—whether we’re aware of them or not—play a major role in shaping our belief systems. For example, you may have been born into a particular religion, but as you mature, your worldview changes. While some people continue...

The Pandemic: A Time of New Discoveries.

#8 07/17/2024 Documented on 1/11/2022 The Pandemic: A Time of New Discoveries. As I reflect on this day, January 11, 2022, I realize how profoundly the pandemic has impacted our lives. I had never witnessed a pandemic before, nor had I experienced its effects firsthand until COVID-19 emerged. In the early winter months of 2020, news began to circulate about a virus spreading in China, potentially linked to infected animals. This virus, which we would come to know as the coronavirus or COVID-19, quickly became a household name. The Emergence of COVID-19 By early January 2020, the first case of COVID-19 was recorded in the United States, setting off a chain reaction across states, cities, and towns. As international travel continued, other countries began to feel the impact, leading many to close their borders in an effort to contain the spread. Hospitals quickly became overwhelmed, facing staffing shortages and extended hours. The demand for personal protective equipment (PPE) strained ...

The Decision To Write: When you Write it Down It's Easier to Plan.

#5 07/07/2024 The Decision To Write: When you Write it Down It's Easier to Plan.  As I sit here contemplating whether to write, I can’t help but reflect on the value this post might bring. The theme of "worth" and "wage" is central to my message. The idea is simple: increasing your self-worth can directly impact your net worth, and ultimately, your earning potential. This concept was inspired by Jim Rohn, who famously said: "To raise the dollar value in the hour, you have to raise your value in the hour." This post will focus on principles I’ve developed and learned over time. These principles were not always clear to me, but I’ll be sharing them in weekly posts. My own epiphany came during a moment of personal defeat—a time when I realized I had spent too long masking my rights with my wrongs. Some of these insights trace back to my early career, particularly after returning home from the military. It was then that I began to truly understand how pers...
